This is the second knitting item I have done for my Christmas homeless package project. (First can be found HERE).
Here I will take you through the free pattern for the Boys Multi-Coloured Beanie.
YARN REQUIRED
I used 4 different colours, each less than 100g
NEEDLES
1x 5mm knitting needles
1x 6mm knitting needles
1x wool needle for sewing up
DIFFICULTY
Easy. You only need to know how to do a few different stitches.
Requires: K, P, K2tog
BEANIE
Using 5mm needles, cast on 64sts.
First 1.5cm from CO: K2, P2
Change to 6mm needles
Change colour
Until 6cm from CO: K
Change colour
Until 10cm from CO: K
Change colour
Until 13cm from CO: K
SHAPE CROWN
Row 1: *K4, K2tog, rep from * to end
Row 2: K
Row 3: *K3, K2tog, rep from * to end
Row 4: K
Row 5: *K2, K2tog, rep from * to end
Row 6: K
Row 7: *K1, K2tog, rep from * to end
Row 8: K
Row 9: *K2tog, rep from * to end
Row 10: K
FINISHING
Join back seam. Sew in all ends.
